Summary

*Licensed in Ohio: Practice Limited to Immigration Only*

As the founding attorney, I wanted to establish a firm that provided down-to-earth legal counseling and representation. As a Latina, I saw that my community was underserved with legal representation in Spanish and wanted help fill that void. I especially wanted to ensure that the legal needs of the growing immigrant and small business communities were met.

I currently practice primarily in the area of immigration but also have a select clientele needing small business assistance with business counseling, structure, and transactions. Prior to founding Flecha Law, Ltd., I was a partner with Thompson Steward Flecha LLC practicing in the same areas.

I come from a working class Puerto Rican family. My parents were born in Humacao, Puerto Rico and came to the mainland with my grandparents for a chance a better life economically. I was raised in Lorain, Ohio, in a close-knit large traditional family, rich in Puerto Rican culture, where Spanish and English were spoken at home. Growing up, I did not see any Spanish-speaking attorneys in our community. I am the “sometimes” proud mom of Luca, the firm’s ornery puplegal.

I graduated from Capital University Law School and have been practicing law since 1995. I was the Staff Attorney for the Honorable John P. Bessey in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, an Assistant Attorney General for the Honorable Betty Montgomery, and a solo practitioner from 1995 until 2016. I began my career represented numerous clients in the areas of family, business, and tax collection.

I actively encourage and support businesses and organizations that continually promote political, educational, social, and economic growth in the Spanish-speaking community. To that end, I am a member in several non-profit charitable and professional organizations. I am a member in good standing with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Femergy.Currently, I am the President of Femergy, a non-profit organization focused on the empowerment of women and young girls.
